A next-generation cryptocurrency combining Dash’s proven masternode technology with modern multichain interoperability to deliver instant, private, and scalable value transfer.
About Himax
Himax (HMX) is a decentralized cryptocurrency designed for speed, privacy, and cross-chain flexibility. Inspired by Dash’s masternode architecture and features such as InstantSend and PrivateSend, Himax modernizes these ideas for today’s multichain world.
Himax aims to be:
A practical medium of exchange for everyday payments,
A robust asset for DeFi and cross-chain liquidity,
A community-governed network where stakeholders decide the future.
Technology & How It Works
Himax uses a hybrid architecture combining Proof-of-Work (PoW) mining for block production (configurable per network) and a network of masternodes that provide essential services, governance, and reward distribution. This dual-layer model increases decentralization while enabling fast on-chain features.
Key technical components:
Masternodes: Nodes that lock a fixed collateral of HMX to provide network services (governance voting, transaction facilitation, treasury proposals). Masternode owners earn a share of block rewards.
Instant Transactions (InstantSend-equivalent): Masternodes coordinate to lock inputs nearly instantly, enabling sub-second finality for everyday payments.
Optional Privacy (PrivateSend-equivalent): Coin-join style mixing implemented at the protocol/tooling level to give users optional privacy for transactions without changing consensus.
Governance & Treasury: On-chain proposal and voting system funded by a portion of block rewards, allowing community-driven development and ecosystem grants.
Multichain Strategy
Himax is fundamentally multichain — built to operate on multiple blockchains and to interconnect them via secure bridges and wrapped tokens.
Planned / supported chains:
Ethereum-compatible networks (BEP-20, ERC-20 wrappers)
Polygon
Binance Smart Chain (BSC)
Optimism / Arbitrum (future)
Bridge design:
Trust-minimized bridges leveraging audited bridge contracts and multisig / threshold signing for early launches.
Wrapped HMX (wHMX): Canonical wrapped tokens on target chains represent HMX for DeFi, AMMs, and smart contracts.
Relayers & Oracles: Secure relayer nodes and oracle feeds verify cross-chain events.
Wallets & UX
Official desktop and mobile wallets (full node and lightweight SPV modes)
Browser extensions supporting multichain wrapped HMX
Integration with hardware wallets (Ledger, Trezor) for secure custody
Third-party wallet support for wrapped tokens on EVM chains
UX priorities include fast sync, one-tap mixing (for privacy), and clear multichain bridges UI with estimated fees and times.
Tokenomics (HMX)
Total Supply: Inflationary model
Distribution:
50% Mining rewards (PoW / block rewards over time)
20% Masternode rewards (paid to masternode operators)
10% Team & advisors (vesting over 24 months)
10% Ecosystem & partnerships
7% Treasury / governance fund
3% Community & airdrops
Block reward split:
Miners: 45% of each block reward
Masternodes: 45% of each block reward
Treasury: 10% of each block reward
Roadmap
Release official wallets (desktop/mobile beta).
Initial masternode activation window and block explorer.
Integrate with major wallets and AMMs.
Use Cases
Everyday Payments: Fast confirmations and low fees make HMX suitable for retail and P2P payments.
Private Transactions: Optional PrivateSend mixing for users seeking enhanced privacy.
DeFi & Liquidity: Wrapped HMX on EVM chains enables yield farming, lending, and AMM liquidity.
Remittances: Low-cost cross-border transfers using multichain bridges.
Masternode Services: Node operators earn rewards and participate in governance.
Governance & Community Treasury
Himax uses on-chain submissions and masternode voting to approve funding proposals. A portion of block rewards funds a treasury for ecosystem development, grants, and partnerships.
Voting types:
Protocol upgrade votes (soft/hard fork decisions)
Treasury funding proposals for development or marketing
Community initiatives like hackathons and bounties
Masternodes carry voting weight; however, long-term plans will include mechanisms to encourage decentralized voting participation by token holders.
How to Buy / Where to Buy
Create a supported wallet (official Himax wallet or compatible third-party wallet).
Buy native HMX at listed exchanges or swap wrapped HMX on EVM AMMs.
For wrapped HMX, bridge assets between chains using the official Himax Bridge UI.
